The Confusing Line between Childhood and Adulthood | Great Advice
Karen Young is a psychologist with an interesting perspective about being human which she shares on her blog at Hey Sigmund. She has written an amazing article from her own experience raising four teenagers titled Parenting an Adolescent: 11 Insights That Will Make a Difference.
The 11 steps she discusses are filled with great insights that will help every parent of an adolescent keep your perspective correct and help smooth the bumps in the road, for both of you.
One observation she shares is that adolescents use the “line between childhood and adulthood as a jumprope”. One minute they want their independence and the next minute they are not ready for independence. This is so confusing for parents, but her suggestions will help.
There are many articles written that can help us understand what our adolescent children are going through. I want to share more, like this that express sensitivity about what the parent is going through, with you.
