I’m a Boy, Hormones! is for boys ages 11 and up who are in puberty. You’ll find that most boys in this age group will want to read the book on their own.
Inside this book, boys will learn about:
- skin and voice changes during puberty
- why they are growing taller
- changes in their reproductive system
- what is happening to cause a wet dream
- why they are experiencing spontaneous erections at the least appropriate moments.
The goal of this book is to inform your son about the physical changes that are happening to him and what he can expect in the future.
The content of the book is supported by Interactive Questions and Exercises as well as a useful Help for Parents section. We also have a Parent Q & A for parents of boys in this age group.
Here is a peek inside I’m a Boy, Hormones!…
From page 23…
“You might have noticed pain in your legs at night, perhaps it has even woken you up while you were sleeping. This pain is called growing pains. Growing pains are common during puberty. They usually don’t happen every day and they will go away in a few years. A little gentle massage of the muscles might help relieve the pain.”
From page 25…
“As you already know, you have two testicles and they are located in the scrotum. The scrotum is a sac of skin that hangs outside of the body. One of the early signs of puberty is that the scrotum gets a little larger and darker. You may also notice that one side of the scrotum hangs a little lower than the other side; this is normal.”
